hit the loch today from 7-2....it was packed with boats.   caught 5 pickel heads and 3 LM -  15in, 17in and 19in.  water temps ranged from 52-55deg.   the worst part about the day was that it took 45min to get the boat out of the water because of the jam at the ramp.    ~xyz

Pierces:  Leave the fishing center and go left towards the big island and the bridge you arent supposed to go under.  Then make a hard left and go to the back of the creek, that is Pierces.

Turtle Rock:  Leave fishing center and go left towards big island.  Go between the Island and the shore on the right side.  The first major point you come to on the right is where you see the golf course really well. That is where the orchard is.  Flooded trees in the middle of that cove.  When you get to that point you then drive diagonally across the lake to the left to the next big point. There is a big main lake cove after that.  When you get to that point go south as if you were headed directly to towson.  You wll need your electronics to find this.  Its a rock hump that is off that point probably betwen 50 to 100 yards off that point.  The water will go from about 30 feet or so to about 5 foot on top of the rock.  Can be a very good place early season and late fall.  Here is the map of loch raven.  http://www.mgs.md.gov/esic/publications/download/lrbathy.pdf
On the map is you locate LONG QUARTER BRANCH, the hump is straight out from the L in LONG QUARTER BRANCH. YOu can se the spot on the map.

Hope that helps?!!!

Fishes loch raven today.   Awesome day 20-25 largemouth 3 pickerel and one giant crappie.  Biggest lm about 3.5 lbs.   Most about 1.5 lbs.    All caught on yum money minnow and trick worms.  Added a treble hook to the swimbait made a huge difference as most strikes were short.  Saw lots of males cruising the spawning flats.   All dish less than 5 ft deep.   Going back Wed

What color was that money minnow, tmetz11?  And how did you rig the treble hook?  I'm heading out to Prettyboy or Loch Raven Friday before the rain hits.

You can just slip one over the point of the swimbait hook.   I prefer mustad triple grips.  Bluegill color worked best.  Had an even better day yesterday.  Caught about 15 over 2 lbs

Thanks!  I'm going to hit Loch Raven next week and give it a try.  Went out on Prettyboy yesterday and had to come in early because of a work thing.  Not much going on there during the short time I was on.
