'92 cajun
« on: February 20, 2006, 11:40:06 PM »

I have just ran across a '92 cajun 17' bass rig ( I think it's a fish and ski) with a walk through windshield. The rig has a Evinrude 90 hp motor, and the rig is immaculate. garage kept, and no fading on the gelcoat. the guy wants $3500 for it. is this a good deal, or should I keep looking. the rig shows less than 30 hours on it.

Cajun was a pretty good boat, my dad still has an early 80's model that I have fished out of numerous times. It's a good riding dry boat. I would have the motor checked out just to be sure...

That is not a bad price and I agree with checking out the motor.

You can check the value at NADA

Keep in mind that you have to do the boat, motor and trailer separate and then add it all together for the total.

Snapper,
I own a 95 Cajun and they are great boats. I have a 16' with a 90hp Mariner.  When I sell mine I am going to list it for 3800.  IT IS NOT FOR SALE YET!!!!!!!!!!!  Cajun boats are top notch I would be more concerned with the shape of the motor.  It sounds like a fair price but I have not seen what you have!

I have not taken the boat out and ran it yet, but I have heard it run. the guy that has it also has a testing tank of sorts and he let me start the motor and check the idle and acceleration. It starts with the first turn of the key, and runs smooth. the boat has been well taken care of. he has kept fuel preservative in the tank and drains the fuel from the motor when it sits. I am going to have it looked at next week. if everything turns out good, then I believe I am going to buy it. I think this year I am going to give the other guys around tulsa a run for their money when I start fishing tournaments again! ;D ;D :shocking:

Nix the Cajun guys, wife overrode me on that one, but look at my other post here in the boat ramp and you'll see that I have a very hard decision to make, but a good one  ;D ;D ;D >:D
