Just repowered my 2004 201 proxl,dc, put a 250 ho e-tech on. played with a few props, tryed a 26 raker11 and couldn't come out of the hole like it should, maybe it was the 1:171 gear retio but went to a 25 trophy and solved the problem. Lost a couple of mph but still run 76.2 at wot with two passengers and 500 lbs of tackle. Turns better and very little steering torque.

Here is mine and my husbands boat.
2007 294XL 200 E-Tech, Team package, hot foot, 80 Minnkota, etc. Added on the Sportsman 8' powerpole and won a jackplate(very opportune time) in a drawing, and we will add a console later this year. Husband is feeling sorry for me ripping the skin off my knuckles hanging on to the little rubber handle next to the seat and looking like an eskimo during the tournament opening run in mid winter!

My son Barret just got his first Bass Boat on Dec.4th. details as follows:
1996 Startos 278 DC
1996 150 Evinrude----90 lb psi on all six cly
25 shooter prop
Hot foot
Two fold down fishing seats and one butt seat and pole
Minn Kota Maxxum 70 lb Thrust Trolling motor
Lowrance X71
Duel Axel Trailer
We've only had her out one trip and that was a great ride and she fish' good also. ~c~The only thing I don't like about this boat was the size of the back live well, to me it' same small
. Anyone using those front live wells on these boats?
God bless all and Happy Holidays!!!!!

firerat41,
You need to go to photobucket.com and establish an account first (Its free).
Down load the pictures you want to post here in Stratos boats section.
Once you have them relocated to Photobucket follow the instructions below.
If you are using photobucket, under your picture will be a list of addresses, click on the one that says IMG code. Copy that code and paste it in your post. If you use that code you can skip the steps of highlighting the code in your post and clicking on the picture icon.
If you have a problem send me a Personal email. I'll will assist you in getting it done.

Thanks Don! I'll take some new pics and post em in the next few days. Everyone thinks she's new. You should see the jaw dropping looks I get when I tell everyone she just turned 15!!!
She's been well taken care of. She's not the fastest out there, but she's reliable. She handles the big water at Toledo Bend just fine!!!

Good deal, I'm looking forward to seeing them.
I've checked out some of the other / older 285 Pro XL's in the Stratos section here.
I have a 2004 and there isn't a whole lot of difference in the older models and the 09 models. The only difference I seen was the driver's console and thats it.
I bought my Stratos back in July 09 and I really like it. I've only got to fish out of it twice beings I bought it while on R&R from Iraq. I was impressed with the layout, handling and the hole shot with the Yamaha 150 VMAX.
The 285's aren't known for speed but I tell you mine runs just fine the way she is.
I have a posting / picture of her in the other part here of the Stratos section.

Just joined this board
I have a 1993 Stratos 254, with a 2009 Mercury 75hp Optimax, I'm the original owner, on the 3rd engine, still have all the original lights on the trailer, and gets used almost every weekend!
Always garage kept and still looks good, I'll post some pics this weekend.

1st time boat owner ... I just purchased a '96 Stratos 268FS 17 ft and it came with a Force 120hp (not sure what year ... anyone know how I could find out?) ... it's a Fish and Ski type model. I had her on the water for the first time this weekend and she did pretty well. The motor could use some TLC but hopefully nothing too crazy; same goes for the throttle control unit (kind of stiff to get her in gear). Still need to figure out what's up with the Johnson Trolling Motor (not sure how many lbs as the cap is missing). The boat pretty much was almost fully restored but some areas still need some TLC (boat another thousand, right? lol). Any tips and suggestions are more than welcome.
