Any of you active duty or retiree members attending the 15th Annual DoD Trny at Lake Eufaula, Alabama from 1-6 May. Partner and I (back seater) are looking to do so,but am concerned with the distance and the costs. What's the avg cost of a room in that area, cost of gas per gal in AL. Launch fees, dock fees, etc. Anyone with information please let me know
Thanks

Calincalif if you get get some response here in a couple days give the Florida boys a shout, I seen that a couple of them are also thinking about it and they are fairly close I bet they could get you some answers. But they should find the thread here.

It's too far in advanceto predict gas prices but right now they are running around 1.85. Hotel prices average around 40-60 dollars. Need to make reservations well in advance if you want to stay anywhere's close to the launch. There are cabins that hold 4-8 people at State Park. There is a link that gives the prices, I'll find and post.
Restaurants are mostly fast-food with a few local places plus a Golden Coral buffet. The Wal-Mart in town has an excellent selection of baits.

The state park is already booked. I call them the day after they annouced the location and the park was booked. She put us on a waiting list because they are in the process of building some new cabins. They should be done in January sometime. Not sure what else is available. Good luck and see you there. The # to the state park is 334-687-8011 give them a call, just cause someone may have cancelled or they may have room once the new cabins are built.
