The handle sticks up but it's out of my way. I won't step on it and bend the handle if I need it I just pull on it and it's there. I'll post pics later on. When I'm "fishin" I put the net over the head of the electric motor. It's really out of the way except for the end of the handle... most of it's up and over the edge of the boat.. The handle of the net rests against the carpet under one of the seats. It's out of the way. The only problem is I put my poles there in transit and sometimes I leave lures on. Well that lines right up with the net and can get tangled a little bit. With my luck, the place where you put it would get hooked or hit mid swing.
