My in-laws live on the Upper St. Croix Lake, so I will be up there this weekend for opener.  We usually will stick to that lake or sometimes kayak down some of the other rivers.  We had great luck last year in Danbury.  There is a spot where two rivers connect and we kayak'd down the slower moving of the two.  I want to say one was the Yellow river, but I am not 100% sure.

I like fishing north central WI. I fish Rollingstone lake (in the Pickerel chain) a whole bunch and we have a love hate relationship. But I also love fishing the clear waters of Rose lake (Langlade Co). Its a small lake with very few cottages, and lay downs as far as the eye can see. Good combo of deep drop-offs and shallow flats and best of all no lake lice.

This summer get a chance to sneak a day off during the week and fish Lake Geneva.  With out all the crazy weekend boaters it is a great bass lake!

Geneva and Delavan are two of my favorite lakes across the border in Wis. Like you say, forget the weekends on Geneva though. The boaters alone will drive a man nuts for they don't seem to care at all how close they come to the fishermen. A big old lake and they insist on running over your fishing spot there. I must say though, this is one lake where I am glad they have a 35mph speed limit for them folks are nuts up there.
