2-10-2007 Guntersville Lake Bass Fishing Reports

COLD! Best describes Friday and Saturday on Lake Guntersville. I fished Friday with a client from Knoxville, TN and it had to be the coldest day I have fished in several years. The eyes on the Falcon rods froze up all day long and at one time the entire boat was covered in sleet. We focused on areas ranging from 4-8ft of water from Waterfront to Goosepond. We managed to land 6 bass (all keepers) on the Xcalibur Xr50 Rattle Bait (royal red & ghost) with the biggest 5 weighing about 16lbs. Saturday a friend and I fished the BITE tournament out of Goosepond with hopes of getting quality bites. For some anglers they did just that but not for us. 26+ lbs. was first place and then there was two bags over 25 pounds that took 2nd and 3rd place. We finished in 15th place and received the last check with a disappointing 14.94 lbs. Good to see old friends and clients from East TN again!
Pic and release,

Sorry about your day but don't be sad over almost 15 pounds. You caught fish and and that is more than a lot of us here on Ultimate Bass!
Congrats!
BTW, Do you know Crystal Langston? She finished 3rd in the WBT in Texas on the non-boater side.

Were you fishing the main river or that one strip of grass that runs from water front to Goosepond? Caught alot of good fish off that area this summer.

No...I don't know Crystal.
The backside of the channel grass has been producing.

I haven't been on the water since August, but I came off the mountain today on my way to Scottsboro and the river looks REAL different since August. I really wanna take and let my buddy take me up in his cessna and take some up to date aereal photos. From the top of the mountain you can see the cloudy spots were the grass beds are real thick in the summer time.
