Carolina Bead tip
« on: June 14, 2007, 08:20:17 PM »

I just recently decided to try some Carolina rigging this year and went to the local bass pro today only to find that the glass beads are expensive for a pack of five so I just purchased one pack, decided to go to Walmart tonight and looked in the crafts section and purchased a pack of 60 of the same size all glass beads in various colors for the same price that 5 beads cost at bass pro.

BTW the sound the exact same as the specific Carolina rig beads and you can also purchase metal ones for pretty cheap in the same section, if you can't find them just look for the arts and crafts isle with the bracelet making stuff.

Use caution when using glass beads around rocks. Especially if you use tungsten weights. The glass beads break and cause the line to fray. I use tungsten beads or plastic or a combination of both.

The glass beads from the crafts section will work but they are not the same as the beads you buy from any tackle store. The beads for fishing are fired giving them a harder finish than the craft beads.
