Well, after helping my nephew move this morning we hooked up the boat and headed out for some fun fishing.
If I did not have a witness and photos, I would not even bother posting this, but, I had / have both so here it goes. For anyone who read "Big Fish Tale 1" a couple weeks ago, I went back to that spot this afternoon while I had my nephew with me.
Well, I cast one of "my" baits deep into the overhanging willow tree limbs and started to work my bait out when it was slammed by a 1.5 to 2lb'er. I set the hook and immediately the fish was pegged against a 3" willow branch and hanging completely out of the water. I hollered at it to wiggle so it would drop back into the water but it just hung there motionless. I was approximately 25' out so I motored over with the trolling motor, right up against the willow tree. My briad had burned a groove into the dead limb and so I had to send the tip of my rod beyond the limb to get the fish to drop back into the water.
I only had 2'-3' of line out at this point and what happened next was the most incredible thing I've ever had happen to me. The fish I had hooked, upon dropping back into the water, was immediately ambushed and engulfed head first up to it's shoulder by a fish I believe was the one I lost 2 weeks ago. Either way, I actually tried to set the hook on it because my hook point had been exposed on the first fish. I missed it and the first fish came free.
OMG! It is the biggest bass I have ever seen, as I was only 3 feet or so from it when he struck my bass. It was definitely all of 13 to 16lb's if not more! My nephew was screaming at me, I was in total dis-belief as I had never seen something so cool. After landing the fish I took a picture of the missing scales from around it's shoulder where the bass had ahold of it, and my nephew took a picture of it to show how big of a bass that monster tried to eat.
