Braided line and boat cover repair
« on: September 30, 2007, 09:03:12 AM »

Probably not a new idea, but here goes.

Recently bought a new travel cover from BPS for my Skeeter.  While putting it on and strapping it down, one of the nylon straps came off due to poor stitching.  Thought about taking it back, but BPS had no more in stock and it would be weeks before they got more in.

Solution.  Went to WalGreens and bought a needle kit with heavy duty curved and straight needles for less than $2.50.  Took some Fireline 20lb braid and with my best Martha Stewart effort I sewed the nylon strap back on the cover.

Cost of needles: < $2.50
Time : 10 minutes
Teaching your daughter how to sew : Priceless
