Rod,

When I rig a drop shot weight, I double the line and loop it over the weight so its tight.  Should I do the same with the spectastic?

No

What drop shot weights are you using ?

here is the right way to rig it to the weight and the line

here is the right way with the lure

The long poles work with your weights

By either putting bow in the wire then inserting,, or bending the end at the bottom of a weight

I think if you will do a "wiggle rig" search on UB, you will find a couple of threads where people are talking about having used it

Soft plastic minnows, long worms in the 7"-12" catagory work well. Any soft worm will work. trick worms arent the best but they can work. Bass assasins , senkos rigged wacky or t rigged, The best worms for the rig are the super soft llong skinny worms. I found some finnesse worms that were 9" long and about 1/8" thick at a tackle shop today. I picked up 2 packs in 3 diff colors. Basicaly any soft plastic will work. Take a few min at the ramp or dock and work the worm where you can see it. Pratice and figure out what action you need to put on each type of bait. I took an hour to pratice with them and got 6the basics down. Another effective method in shallow water  is "slapping" leave a 24-36" leader between the hook and the rig. Slowly reel the worm in untill the weight hangs on something or gets stuck in the sand and then with the rod tip kinda high in the air make the fluke or minnow or worm "dance and slap" the surface of the water. I worked on this method today and caught 9 with huge blowups.

Guess what? Spectastic Tackle now sells standout hooks too at a better price than BPS or any of the retailers do.

Thanks,

Scottie

Just remember to pratice with them for a few min in the shallow water. It doesnt take much rid tip action to get the right action on the worm. With small thin worms like the wiggle worms sold by spectastic it only takes 1/4"-1/2"  to make the worm wiggle. But with a large worm like a 10"-12" culprit it takes 1-1.5" of tip movement. To make a thick and heavy senko wiggle it takes between 1 and 2" of tip action to work. Flukes I varry the action depending on size and how I want them to look.

Saw them at the BMC this year and bought one of the Mojo kits.   :-\ and I have not tried yet - what am I thinking - this little rig is laying on my boat somewhere right now - am going to rig a rod up this weekend.  Absolutely killer action - I'd recommend everyone give one a try if you like drop shotting or you like catching fish when no one else is ;)  Wonder what happened to the Mojo side of things and why they are not selling any more?

Not to ruffle a sponsors feathers but, Mojo Weights never stopped selling the Spectastic Wiggle Rig.
Matter of fact, the Spectastic Wiggle Rig was developed and packaged and made user friendly by the Mojo Company, regarding the ease of rigging the bungee material to the Mojo patented Wire with the Mojo cylindrical sinker and the effortless attachment of the Bungee material to the anglers line, not to mention the awesome package insert with its directions for use! I had purchased a 85 piece Spectastic Wiggle Rig kit for just $15.00 from Mojo Weights by calling awhile back.
