vickers, they only had one Pro Gator that was complete at the factory and it wasnt quite what I wanted (ugly)..... Of course I saw one yesterday that I really liked parked in Logansport so who knows (I just need to test drive some boats )Ive been lazy to this point and havent driven any ....Im looking at the Nitro 898 and 929 hard right now. Called about a Champion today and they are out of my range by far ... I am going to re-read all of these posts and see if there was any information I missed somewhere. I really appreciate folks taking the time to reply with first hand knowledge.

Chris, Thanks for your feedback on the Progator boats. Just a reminder that the boat you saw at the factory is just an example of the body style. They can make any color combo you wish. They can make any boat color you wish and you can see it built. I saw mine built and it was kind of cool. If you wish Progator can match a paint chip from your truck to have the ultimate color combo if that is important to you. Tell them what you want and they will build it in about 2 weeks. Progator carries Evenrude motors. Now it is not the Evenrudes we all love and hate. Bombardier (Sea-do, leer-jet, ect.)bought out OMC a few years back and re-tooled the entire motor. They come with a 5 year factory warrenty. The FLW bass tourny tour just switched all of their Merc optimax moters to Evenrude High Output (H.O). IF is good enough for the pros........
Good luck with your shopping and props to you for making an educated selection with asking great queestions.

Chris-
I have the 929cdx with 225 optimax..(just watch out for the pink key chains they will hurt the performance of any boat
) I'll take you for a ride whenever you want.
It is a fine ride and you will not be sorry if you decide on the nitro.
I got a some Awesome warranties on mine to boot!
Good Luck man..

chris, i might can make this decision a little easier for ya. i have a friend that works at water moccasin pirogues. he can get you in a NICE two man pirogue for less than $1850. it comes with a neat little trailer and a 24V trolling motor. it would look great behind your truck. but i don't think you can pick the color and you definitely cannot get it to match your truck.
you know what they say: fat girls and pirogues have a lot in common------they are fun to ride until your friends see ya. hehhehehehehehehehe
just thought i would lighten the mood.
i have fished out fo nobles nitro in two different tourneys. it is a sweet boat. and has lots of room. especially if you own 1500 terminator spinnerbaits. you can store every one of them at once. the onlyproblem i have with them is i can never seem to boat a bass in his. but hey--that's life.
i think you are going about it hte right way. gather all the info and then go hit the water in every different boat you can. that is the real test. make sure it fits you. and might i reccomend the hot purple with florescent orange and pink stripes. NOW THAT WOULD LOOK GREAT BEHIND ANY TRUCK!!.
drop it deep and test drive em all!!

Doc - thanks for the Nitro advertisement. And sorry about the lack of fish catching...at least we had fun.
At the Club tournament on Sunday...there were 5 Nitro's. And two of them were exactly alike.
Chris - are you looking at the 898 with the removable carpet?
Good Luck!

chris, hey man--what kind of boat do you fish out of now?? are you gonna try to trade it in or sell it yourself?? i heard something today at work that surprised me. but maybe not you or noble. i heard that nitro was the best selling boat in the world. i did not know that. but i suppose it might be true. good luck and remember, get a boat that will double as a bed in case your wife makes you choose. MAN--I'LL BET YOU WILL MISS HER!!!!!!! HEHEHEHEHE
