What kind of bass boat do yall think i should get the price cant go over $2200 (caz of car insurance). ill tell u the rivers and how far i like to travel. I fish on the biloxi and tchoutacabouffa rivers there pretty if u know. I like going into pretty small slooses and ditches. Could u recommend the size and motor best for me.

I have a buddy down there and he always says he wishes he had a 14 foot tracker with like a 50 on the back of it for fishing the rivers and ox bows. You should be able to find a good used one for your price range

It won't be the fastest on the water but it drafts very shallow and you will be able to get to places a lot of folks can't

Im thinkin of gettin a older one with a bigger motor that a least runs and keep it until i can find a used almost new motor the boat would be around 1500.

I go along with Mike on this one I own a tracker with a 50 horse on the back. My partner and I have run the Kalamazoo river with it and it handles the current well. On lakes it is slow compared to the fiberglass toys out there but when I get to that spot they can only wish cast to they envy me. I bought mine for $2000.00 with all the toys and a great trailer under it.

one thing to watch out for as far as a bigger motor, is the size rating that the boat can handle. If you over do it it can damage the transom of the boat and not give you any better power. check out with a dealer the biggest motor you can put on any boat before you step it up. good luck on finding the right boat for you.

some of the others will stop by over the next couple days and give you their thoughts on this, but I have never been one to worried about speed. so not the one to talk of that but the water type you will be running is what is to be look at. if there is a lot of stumps and thing to hit stay away from fiberglass. there are tracker that can handle the bigger motors the new one can run 125's with no problem I hear. it is just some thing I thought you might want to keep in mind when buying a boat. I have heard of guys buying a boat with a big motor to find out the transom is cracked.

I saw a boat today that was good lookin but i dont know the price on it and it is about a 17' with a 115 mercury on it. would that be good for the kind of fishin i do.

it depends on if you want speed now or some thing that goes shallow?

the one you talk of sounds like a good boat for running rivers that are big and wide open. If you plan on more shallow water fishing it will depend on the draft of the boat. when you stop by to find out about the price ask him how is the draft of it?
this is something that should help you figure out if it fits you needs. If i was to look at another boat I think a 115 sounds about right for the lakes up here.

bassmaster350 , a 17 footer with a 115 will run pretty good and if it is aluminum you will still be able to get into the shallow back waters. What kind of boat was it?
