Would I Be Disappointed?
« on: June 02, 2008, 08:16:01 PM »

I am presently a Ranger owner and have sworn that I will always be but... It's time to upgrade to a larger rig than my 17.5'. I have been looking for a 2000 to 2002 Ranger 520 to be able to keep within my budget. Today a ran across a 2000 Triton TR21 with a 2000 Evinrude Ram for $14,000. Would I be disappointed with a Triton after being a Ranger owner? Are the Ram engines any good?
Thanks,
Joe

I think you would be extremely happy with a triton from a ranger.  If I was buying a new boat a triton would definately be first on my list.  In fact ranger would probably be close to the bottom probably just ahead of a nitro.  In my opinion they are way to overrated and hiped up.  Especially if your lookin at the speed aspect.  the ranger won't stand a chance against the triton.  As far as I know the ram is a good motor.  The early years were rough but i think in 2000 they got bought out by bombardier and bombardier did some good things and really turned it around.  if you want to stay with a ranger and don't mind traveling.  Team Karu(rudy) has a nice one for sale posted on here.
