'96 Bullet Bass Boat
« on: June 15, 2008, 07:51:27 PM »

:help: I am looking to buy a '96 bullet 20ft w/'96 Suzuki 150 efi on back. Boat is in good condition with the exception of the transom has a few holes where a transducer or something was mounted. I am concerned about transom rot. Trailer needs some TLC, but overall outfit is fair. Engine runs excellent, cranks on demand, and waaaay faster than I need. asking price is 6000.00 Any warnings or suggestins?

With most of the older bullets I looked at, it seems that the kevlar really stoped all stress cracks around the transom. before putting out the $$$ grab a hold of the motor and lift up and down and make sure nothing gives, and you should be good.also make sure all the electronic stuff works,I hate doing electrical work on a boat (so many wires so little time   :surrender:)

Thanx Steve...so if I can pull on the motor without any movement it should be ok?

Yes,  flyinggard ,  watch where the motor is mounted and it should not move their, also if the transom was rotten it would be stress cracked as the transom would no longer support the weight of the motor causing the gel coat to crack    :'(
