Wilson Lake Bass Fishing Reports
« on: May 31, 2005, 07:49:30 PM »

The Tennessee Valley Bass Club will hold its monthly tournament for June on the 11th out of Saftey Harbour.  Our club is a BASS Federation club of about thirty members and we have a very laid back atmosphere.  All your tournament entries are included in the dues so if one person or thirty shows up for a tournament you are still fishing for the same amount of money.  You can fish with anyone you want to (in the club or not) or you can fish by yourself.  We don't fish in July & August (too hot) and January and February (too cold).  We fish Pickwick, Wilson, Wheeler, Guntersville, and Cedar Creek.  We have one meeting a year and we vote on the next tournament location at the end of each tournament.  If you would like to join just leave me a message or drop me an email.

Wilson Lake JUN 11, 2005

Fished a club tournament on Sat. on Wilson.  Fish were jumping in the boat, it was just hard to find the quality fish.  Tournament was won with 11lbs.  I had 5 that went 10lbs. even.  Big fish was 3lb 9oz.  My big fish was a 3lb LM, I also had a 2lb. 12oz. smallmouth.  All the LM were caght in Shoals Creek except one which was caught on a main lake point.  The SM was also caught in Shoals Creek.  All the fish were caught pitching a craw into log jams, except the smallmouth which was caught on a black buzzbait on a flat.  The big fish probably have taken up summer residence in the deeper water on the main lake, I just could not fish for them because of the wind from TS Arlene.  BTW the new Frogg Toggs Elite are awesome.  I was dry as a bone at the end of the day.
