We all make mistakes, every now and then. It is good to see that we can have a small issue that doesn't turn into an overblown one. We all discussed, decided, and enacted in as timely a manner as the rules allow for. Thanks to everyone involved for handling the issue in a manner that is a credit to themselves and the organization. We have a great bunch who want to see this effort suceed.
As an example, we also had two other issues where the anglers stepped up and basically protested themselves. That is what integrity is all about. The problems in all matters were not intentional, but each team held themselves as accountable as they would expect others to.
As a group, all our anglers should be proud of how they have comported themselves this year, and we are proud to have them be a part of the 5280 BassHunters Team Tournament Trail. Even when there has been a issue everyone has worked together for a resolution.
Everyone involved has made this first year a sucess, and as we continue, growing and learning from experience, we will get even better. Next year is already sounding promising. Everyone stay tuned for future announcements and a bigger and better tournament series.
And we are not done for this year, yet!
The Powell Championship will be as fun as it is lucrative. A lot of prizes, more payout, and a fun time. If you have not been to Powell at this time of the year you are in for a treat. Over the last 12 years I have been to Powell in October approximately 5 times. Each time it seemed we had the whole lake to ourselves. Last time, there were only 5 trailers in the lot that were NOT with our group. This means that in many areas, anglers may not see another competitor all day. Beauty, serenity, and tournament angling!
Anglers, DON'T FORGET, you will need your certificate showing that you completed the Zebra Mussel education, available via link on the 5280 BassHunters web site. This is not just a requirement for our tournament, all tournament anglers on the lake are required to have this certification. It is easy, only takes a few minutes, and it's free.
The Pre-Tournament meeting will be at the Anasazi Restaurant, at the Defiance Lodge, at Bullfrog, at 7:00 PM on Friday the 24th of October. If you wish to order, the restaurant will open at 5:00 PM for dinner. Friday is a practice day; remember that all tournament rules apply during practice.
See you there, we're going to have fun!
