eye couldn't find the picture eye was looking for to scan in.

It was a picture of a Double Rainbow over the water eye took up in Canada a few years ago with one of them throw away

takes but it came out real nice and if eye ever run across it eye will post it anyways

I think that we are going to do an article comtest in December... Lake Reviews or Techniques or maybe your choice.. What do you guys think?

I do like possibly mixing it up. Maybe best lake review/fishing report posted in the month. Writing articles/techniques could be cool too. I'm with Pferox too, sure would like more photo contests. I certainly want to get in that the next time.

Ok... lets do it this way...

I want to have contests that you all will participate in. I want the new guys, the old guys and the run of the mill guys to take one look at contest weather it is a photos contest an articles contest or whatever and say to them selves "dang I am getting in on that one right now" and then post!

So I will take suggestions from all of you about what you think would be a great contest to have and then we will do it. Sooooo lets have it what kind of a contest do you want to have?

Laurie, why not put one of each suggestion you get in a hat and draw out one each month as to what the contest will be on. That way its a random contest and then everyone can decide if they want to post or not. OR draw one for each month and post it ahead of time, so people can pick what month they'd like to enter..
Ex: Month one September '05 water photos (completed)
Month two October '05 XXXXXXX

Thank you all for this prestigious honor. I would never have thought in a million years that I would be sitting here in front of my computer, writing an acceptance speech - it's an honor just to be nominated! I would like to thank the Academy and the Art Department for their gracious acknowledgement of my artistic ability. I would also like to thank my 9th-grade photography teacher, Eunice Kadiddlehoffer*, for her support and enlightenment! Boy did she enlighten me! And when my therapy sessions end I will continue my photography to fulfill that burning desire to waste photo paper. I can hear the crowds chanting now. Rudy, Rudy, Rudy, Rudy...wait that was the movie I was just watching. Again, thank you to all that voted for me and have stood by my photo in the Post Office. I would also like at this time to give legal permission for the future awards of outstanding photography to named the "Rudy Award"
I love this new digital photography it is so much easier than painting pictures of the water, has anyone found an ear on the bank over by Lake Van Gogh?

I think the photo contest was a great one, but not everyone can participate...lack of digital camera or scanner. Hopefully next time more will jump in.

An article contest is a great idea. Writing is not that difficult and everyone can do it. There is a lake close to you that you like to fish...write about it. Tell where the ramps are, how to get to it, what structure is present, what times of the year are best for fishing, etc. Also, tips and techniques is another way to go. Most everyone has a favorite way to fish, whether it be plastics, spinnerbaits, topwater...or another bait. Just write about how you fish it, why you like it, how it produces. You can also write about a certain trip you made and "loaded the boat" with fish. I think everyone can write...I mean, as much posting as goes on here...we are ALL writers.

I definitely vote for more photo contests, but I would prefer to see an article contest to test the skills of our great members.

Don't get too dissapointed I am sure that we will have another one. I would be thinking about what kind of holiday fishing pictures you could come up with because a little birdy told me that she was thinking of having a most original photo contest for the holidays... something like a christmas tree on the lake or a bass with antlers...
