Rolling Stone Lake - Langlade Co.
« on: May 03, 2009, 10:25:46 PM »

I got out on the Rolling Stone this weekend for the opener and had limited success. Before the boat was in (round 7 am) I went down to the shore to see what I could see and it was a little chaotic. There was 10-20mph wind blowing in from the northwest and it was miserable. I tried throwing a Pumpkin seed Jig, Fire tiger Spinnerbait, and 4 inch Roboworm on a 1/2 oz spot remover but came out  empty handed.

Went out at 5pm in the boat.

Wind: 10-15 mph (5pm-7pm), 0-5 mph(7pm-9pm)
Clarity: Slight stain, 5-6ft visibility
Water Temp: 50-53

We started out throwing cranks about 300 yards off the west shore in 6-8ft of water and found a healthy population of small northern. We caught them sporadically throughout the day in both shallow and deep water all on fire tiger cranks (DT-10 and Rat-L-traps). At 8pm on the southern shore me and my buddy simultaneously hooked into large mouth in about 4 feet of water.  Mine on a weightless black yum Dinger and his on the Firetiger lipless. Both fish were around 16 inches and went 2.5 lbs
