Beaver Lake Report 20090509
« on: May 11, 2009, 08:05:00 AM »

on the water at 10:05, slight breeze, water temp on main lake was 58°.  pulled on to a point on the south side of the lake, and started with a LC ghost sunfish pointer 100, caught a short in about 15 casts.  went to a shallow CB and boated another short in about 5 casts.  changed to a LC Staysee 90 (to get a little deeper) and caught a 3#, 2# and white crappie, and two keeper walleys with the next 200 yards.  went back to the point and started with a Black/Blue tube and caught another 2.5#.  went to the north side of the lake and tubed an entire cove, eventually losing a big fish, and boating another 2#.  pulled out on to a north-side point, and tied on a Booyah SB in "pixie dust" and went to town!  caught about 6 bass, with 2 of them over the 2# size.  went back to my starting place with the pixie dust SB and ran the same 200 yards, catching about 4 more bass, with one near 2.5#.

Figured my best 5 went 12# and caught them on 2 JB, tube, and a SB.  Water temp at 1700 hrs was hitting 62°.

Beaver Lake clarity is roughly 10', in the far SW cove its 8" and muddy...

and  oh yeah, I saw at least 6 different kids playing in the water...as in swimming!  Darned NE kids are tough!
