Well me and Dad headed up to eufala this past weekend. friday we just went out on the lake to scope out a few spots. Water was clearish with water temps in the mid 80s and air temps in the 90s.
Saturday we fished in the Lee King Tournament. The tournament had around 170 boats. Water was clear with same temps as friday. We caught fish all day had our 5 fish limit fairly early. Most fish were small caught on the grass using soft plactics. big fish out of the grass was 2.5 lbs. We then moved out to some ledges that went from 6ft to 18ft fairly quickly and then tapered off into the 24ft range. This is where i ended up catching my personal best so far of 4lbs. picked him up carolina rigging. My dad also picked up our big fish off the day weighing in at close to 5 lbs. Gave us a total of just shy of 16lbs for the day. Out of the near 170 boats we ended up in 32nd place. first in the tornament was 25lbs. At the end of the day the bottom of the sky fell out and we got SOAKED!! all in all a great day fishing.
Sunday we fished the mediabass tournament and hit up the same spots we did the day before.except the grass offered us nothing. now here is where it gets weird normally my dad is hte one who puts the fish int he boat and i catch what i can to help. bit today was totally different all the keepers caught this day were caught by me. in cluding a new personal best of 6.1 lbs!!! we finished with 11.45 lbs and finished 11th.
Now sunday late afternoon we got rained on again but this time the storms were much worse causing waves int he 3 ft range making getting back to lakepoint a very tough thing to do.
but excluding hte rain it was a great weekend.
