2003 ZX200 Hull problems
« on: August 16, 2009, 04:02:20 PM »

I know this is a bad way to post for the first time but hopefully I can get some help from skeeter. I have had alot of problems since I bought my boat from skeeter in 03, it has been back to the factory 5 times due to major stress cracks in the top half of the hull. In the 5 times it has been back to the factory they have replaced the "lid" of the boat 3 times and the cracks have come back every time. I know that you may have some stress cracks from normal wear and tear but my boat is completely covered from the trolling motor, back. It has been over a yr since the last time my boat went back to them and the last time they did nothing. It sat at the factory for 2 months and got sent back exactly how it was. I have tried to contact skeeter in every way I possibly know, phone, fax, email, and their website. I cannot get a response to save my life. It has been very frustrating for a company that I would expect to stand behind their product. I love my boat, the ride is great, esp in rough water, not to mention the speed and quickness of getting on plane. It's just a little frustrating when ever skeeter rep that has looked at the boat agrees that something isn't right and Skeeter wont take the time to fix this problem. Hopefully someone from Skeeter will come accross this and I can get some kind of feedback from them. Sorry for the long post. If anyone has any GOOD skeeter contacts please shoot me a PM. Thanks

I don't think AZ has a lemon law on boats. Some states do but I don't think AZ is one of them. Funny thing is first Skeeter I bought was a 98 and it went back to the factory because of hull problems and they agreed and built the new one in 03 because of it. Guess I just have bad luck, everyone I know with Skeeters has nothing but great things to say  :(

Call Skeeter direct. Their 800 phone number is on the web. Just ask to speak with the production manager. I just left the plant today and they are all very very friendly!

I have had the same problem, I contacted the company and talked to a guy named Darby. I thought he took care of me but it ended up being the same ole thing over and over again. Problem was when I got it back the place that fixed it messed the boat up pretty bad. The broke a brand new prop (only used 1 time) New skag was dragged on the ground, replace all the stickers on the boat but did not clear coat over them, now stickers are falling off. I've had the boat back for 3 months and the cracks are back and look even worse and the gel coat looks like I left the boat in the sun for a couple of years. I believe once your Skeeter falls in a certain year, they drop the urgency about it. Because when it was only a couple of years old I had no problem getting in and fixed. now I've had it for awhile it's becoming harder and harder.
