Champion 214 Fish&Ski?
« on: October 05, 2009, 09:44:36 PM »

I know, a Fish&Ski is not a pure bass angler's preferred boat, but I am looking for a multispecies boat because I am not planning to be a bass pro.  So I was wondering if there are any 214 owners out there to share any information about this boat.  This will actually be my first boat and want to make sure the Champion is right for me.  It is pricey, but definately is a nice boat (compared to some of the junk I have been looking at).  So any help/comments/input would be highly appreciated.

I dont owe a Champion at the moment but still looking for my 2nd Champion, I had a 94 elite and it was a fine boat, Champions are KNOWN for there rough water ride, i had mine for 5 years and no one problem with the boat itself, I have rode and drove many other brands of bass boats and not one of them compares to champion as far as ride and turning goes!! I have looked at some really really nice fish&ski champions that i have passed on just because i want a bass boat, Test drive a few differant boats and get what fits your needs and wants, but myself i highly reccomened a Champion!!!

The 214sx (formaly the 290SF Stratos) is IMO the finest SKI-n-fish ever produced. Its BIG, sexy, performs well. That being said, did you notice I put the SKI in bold letters? It truely is a Ski-n-fish as opposed to a FISH-n-ski. The 214/290 has a little more attention to the "Ski" portion of the boat. A true, good FISH-n-ski boat is getting hard to find. Viper/Venom boats had the Coral 202 which was excellent. AS was the 200FS Stratos. The best that I have seen are the Allison's. The XB2003 is great but the XB21 Prosport or 2+2 are off the charts! Outside of the Allison, if you can find a leftover 190FS Triton and get it with the bass console windshields (vs the full glass walk-through) they are a very good FISH-n-Ski. The Skeeter SL210 and 475FS Charger are ok as well.

good luck!

Darth is correct regarding the 214....a fine SKI and Fish.

The very best FISH and ski models are the ChampioN 19 and 21 SX rigs...Family oriented with a huge front deck... ~c~ ~c~ ~c~
