New nitro Help
« on: December 15, 2009, 05:30:52 PM »

I have just bought a new 08 750 with a 115 optimax, laser2 22p prop,no jackplate, my propshaft is 6" below the pad, I have 3 more holes on the transom to raise the motor.
I am wondering what performance I can expect with setup as is (top speed, holeshot, etc.)  Without any plate setback, I was wondering which hole in the transom would be best to have the motor mounted on.  I realize experimenting is the only sure way to tell, but I am from Canada and won't be getting the boat wet until spring. So I would appreciate any advise on setup (excluding jackplate). I am also going to buy a second prop and was wondering what to buy.
thanks
P.S.  There aren't many bass boats up here so there is a real lack of knowledge about how to set them up.
