I think i got a good deal on this tandem axle trailer,,I bought the trailer sight unseen and then was told there was a bonus with it. The seller then sent me a couple of pictures of it and here they are. Its a 85 19ft Hydrosport and has a 235 rude hanging on it Bang,,If the boat is solid as I am told it is,, I have a 150yamaha an a 200 mercury(25") that i will be doing a complete rebuild on and  it will all be documented with pics and I will post the whole rebuild from start to finish in the outboard motor section.

Congrats on the great deal!!   Clap

For sure post more pics. If the transom is in good shape you should be good as the Hydrasports were Kevlar hull boats.  Clean suck_kr her up and let us know.

Nice find! Check for rotten transom and stringers before adding HP as nmanley stated..Also check to see if it has a CG plate regarding HP.  If it doesn't contact me.  I'll provide you the formula so you don't over power and become legally liable in the event of an accident.

Looks like you got a great deal there as long as it doesn't cost an arm and leg to get it operational.

Yep its a Kevlar hull and i just got off the phone with the owner and he says he has all of the books for the boat from new and that it had been under a shelter until last summer when he bought himself a new john deere,, and he has keep it under the fitted cover that also comes with it. The carpet and  is bad,and said overall was in good shape and He says the floors and transom are good(lets pray).I know that that engine is way way too much for that boat and its a long shaft too.Thats why Iam going to build a 150 yamaha or a 200 mercury(if its rated for a 200) and put it on a 8" jack plate. I think this may be be one of my  best 500 bucks deals yet!! By the time i part out that 235 rude if i only get 100 bucks from it, thats turns this to a 400 buck deal Grin Grin Grin for me,,I will be picking it up sometime this week. I have done a little research on this hull and its a really light hull only a 1000lbs with a 93" beam and 18'6" long so it should be rated for a 150 at least but will see what the CC tag has on it.

Donald thats true,, if it even as much looks like it may not be a cheap project I will cut the boat up with my chainsaw and haul it to the dump. And be just tickled with the trailer alone for 500 bucks. Most boats i been looking at are on single axle trailers and its a 120 miles one way to Eufaula and i perfer a tandem axle trailer myself

The 17.5 feet Hydrosports were rated for 150hp and I think the 18.6 were good for 200hp. Buddy had a 85 17.5 with a 150hp and it was a screamer... or at least it would make you scream!   Shocked  Laugh
When I drove it compared to my 84 Ranger 370V it felt like a little sports car.
I'm pretty sure yours will be even scarier.  Ranger's Flag

Didn't know if you remembered what boat I ran. Grin If you get your Hydrosport to mid 80's your gonna be passing Joe's Procraft and -Joe-'s  'Toon' ROFLMAO  You must have some sweet mods in mind for the Merc.

With the hull only being a 1000lbs compared to 1400lbs of most 19ft boats and most of them getting in the mid 70's without any mods(hell i think i recall seeing 76mph on your gps on the flint that day!!) I don't see any trouble getting it into the mid 80's. Thats IF the boat is in good shape and safe enough to hold the max hp its rated for,,If not like i said I will take boat to the dump and keep the trailers and be happy.

Or, you can send it to NRG and he can start another restoration thread  I have an Idea!

Steve NRG's thread on his hydrosport is one of my biggest encouragements to find a project boat to do,I done a Glass stream and had to do stringers, transom and floors and thats a LOT of work !! Cosmetic's, engine and electrical are simple and I enjoy doing them all, but will never get into rebuilding the structure of a boat again.I am not expecting a lot but if its a good foundation to build I will build it and make a very reliable, safe, functional boat from it.

Franklin, I'd love to rebuild a boat like what NRG did, but to find something like that (or your new find) in Korea is difficult at best.

I hope this one works out for you, I love to see people get great bargins  Grin
