I have an '88 179 V but i guess this is just a general boat question. In my rod holder compartment i don't have any rod holders so my rods just kinda get piled on top of each other. Are there rod holders that can be mounted inside the rod compartment. If so how short do the screws need to be so they don't screw all the way through? Not sure how thick the walls are

I have the same boat and when I got mine the guy had took a piece of quarter in plywood and drilled holes and put i am thinking they are the tubes for arrows but they could be the tubes that go in golf clubs. I can put fifteen rods in my locker and they never get hooked together. U can shove the rod all the way up and the reels touch the tube. I hope this helps if u need send me your email and I can try to get pics to send you. Good luck
