I fished a University of Alabama Fishing Team tourney out of Higgins Ferry Monday from safe light until 3.  I had two bites and caught one fish that weighed 2 lbs even. Congratulations to Warren Hoffman who was our winner with a respectable 5 fish limit.  There were about 23 boats in our tourney and only 9 of us weighed in at least one fish.  The fishing was very tough, but with water temps between 42 and 46, what do you expect?  I managed to catch that one fish on a shaky head.  I talked to some guys that day that was catching a few on a 3/16 black/blue jig, but I didn't have any luck on it.  That was my first time to ever fish Lake Mitchell and from the looks of it, I know it has more to offer than that.  I will definitely be back over there this Spring.

Hey, guys.  I'm a UA alum, graduated in '93.  Glad to hear Bama's got a bass club now.  I don't think they had one back when I was in school.  Of course, way back then I was more interested in drinking beer and chasing skirts than I was in fishing.  Funny how 13 years of marriage will completely change your priorities.   Laugh  Anyway, I wish you guys the best.  Looking forward to hearing great things about your team in the future.  Roll Tide!!!
