Price of an '05 TR21XDC
« on: January 22, 2010, 09:46:16 PM »

What would be a great deal on this boat.  It has low hrs 150, and looks to be in great shape.  the electronics are just the standard that came with it, no fancy SI or anything. It has a 225 Merc and dual console.

I'm no expert, but you can find alot of similar boats right now for around 23,000-27,000 depending on the condition.  The more expensive ones are usually tricked out and have the proXS motor.  With standard electronics and a 225 optimax I think 23-25K is about right.

Thanks guys.  I;ve seen several in that price range.  I'm hoping to get a better deal than that, or maybe some new electronics thrown in.

It can't hurt to try, but I wouldn't expect him to move much.  The economy is hurting and boats are selling cheap, but not ungodly cheap.

It depends on how hard you look. I bought a 2005 Triton Tr21X with a Mercury 225 Optimax with 62 hours on it and Minn Kotta Maxxum pro 80lb trolling motor and Lowrance 520C and 332C for $10,800. The boat did not have a scratch on it. I got it at a bankrupcy auction.

:shocking: :shocking: dude, I got to find some of those around here!!  I would probably have to travel to find a boat like that.  Is there a website you can go to, to find some in your area.

I deal with a lot of Repo boats, Most will sell for about 50% of its retail price but you can not crank the engine or check compression no real knowledge about its real condition. A nice shiny boat does not make a good deal.

We haul and Repo over 100 boats every year, I see many owners get mad that their boat is being Repossessed. They try to take whatever they can and sometime even damage the boat - one guy added sugar to the fuel.

Anyways, there some good finds for sure but I will stay away from Repo boats unless you buy it from a dealer you can trust and will add some warranty to  it.
