Ranger accessories switch question
« on: January 27, 2010, 11:56:35 AM »

It appears that the accessory switch on the console of the 1999 Ranger Cherokee 207 I just purchased is not working.  All of the accessories work regardless of the master accessory switch position.  On my other boat the accessory switch turned off all other switches.  Does this one work differently?  If it is not working properly, how would I repair it?  Thanks,  I didn't want to take it apart until I knew what I should expect.  I assume the switch is important to avoid unexpected battery drain if another switch is on.

I have a 98 Ranger and that switch doesn't do anything in my boat either. I think it is just put there in case you want to add something like a stereo or whatever. There is a switch in the battery compartment right by the cranking battery that will cut off all lights, pumps etc.

Thanks, pawpaw.  I checked and I do have a battery switch on the cranking battery.  The dealer offered to put one in for $120, but I declined.  Glad I did since I may have paid for something that was already there.
