Topic: Shimano Curado E7 Reassembly Problems (Read 1706 times)

I took apart my E7 for the first time today and I immediately regret my decision. While it is all clean and oiled, it does not operate anymore.

When taking the reel apart I did not make note of the position of a particular piece and now I think that it is causing my problems. I have snapped a few shots of the piece in question in hopes that someone can help me out.

This arm is the piece giving me problems.

I can get the reel to fit back together when I put the arm in this position but I do not think this is right.

It slips on the cog below the gear. The cog actually rides inbetween the two metal pieces. It works as part of your anti reverse.

let me try to explain it in plain english. Thats an anti reverse dog. At the bottom of your gear stack is a cog gear. It has notches in it. the anti reverse dog has two thin plates that sandwich together. Take all the gear stack back off. grease the teeth of the cog gear and grease the anti reverse dog in the fin area. slip the fins over the cog gear, one on top one on bottom and roll the tip into a notch. Now place them on the shaft as a pair and get the anti reverse dog on the post at the same time that the cog gear seats at the bottom of the stack.

Thanks again guys, now She's humming along like new . Rather than straddling that cog I it in wedged down there. Not only was it stopping reverse but forward and any other direction it could have went.
