black finnese baby!!

I went down the road today to my farm pond which is about 11 acres. I live in valdosta ga and we have had a lot of rain and all the ponds and lakes are up but everyone has that one pond they can go to and always catch a few fish. I pulled up at 2pm with my boat behind the truck and i made a cast from the bank to a stump that was about 20 ft away from bank sitting in about 3 ft of water. I had on my black finnese and i drug it about a ft away from stump and i felt .......tap....tap and line was moving off. Well i set the hook and landed fish just a sec later,. fish was about 1 1/2 lbs. I decided to go on an put boat in at that time. I wind up catching 13 in 2 hours and missed about 3. i caught all but 3 on black finnese and the other 3 were on a trek worm called bullfrog candy made by bitterbaits out of florida. i am telling you guys right now that dont be afraid to throw the black finnese!! it works and dont let it fool you i have caught 6 and 7lbers on this worm and hooked bigger. I was using a 1/16 weigh and just dragging it on bottom. if its not real wind u can use a 1/32. After i got out in lake i headed straight for the middle to the bulk of cypress trees in about 5-6ft of water. On the frist cast i caught one in the cypress trees by a cypress stump. Fish weighed a tad over 2. I had a blast and i had to leave at 430 to go pick up my wife or would have caught more. Here are a few pics

Sounds like a great time!!! I am not good at catching bass on a worm. I drag them hop them swim them and switch up the ways there rigged never a bite. Its weird thou I can use tubes and jigs and catch bass, just dontknow why they never take the worm lol.

Looks like you had a good afternoon, congratulations! We're gettin' 12" of snow tomorrow, I'm glad people are catchin' bass somewhere.
If I had to fish just one bait, that'd be it. Nothing like a 6" black plastic worm.

pick up some zoom black finnese worms and a 2/0 round bend gamakatsu hook and a 1/32 weight or 1/16 and you will catch fish. use 10 or 12lb test. i use berkley suffix elite clear. tough line and very sensitive. cant beat the worm dragged slow on bottom. if you drag it by the bass he will 90% of the time gladly engulf it

if you are fishing deep use a 1/16 weight. if you are fishing shallow like 5 ft or less use a 1/32. and yes i usually just drag the worm on the bottom. if its a sandy bottom or a clay bottom then dragging it will sometimes stir up things on the bottom and imitate a crawdad. i occasionally will hop it or just slightly life my rod to make it raise up off bottom and sometimes i will drag it like 3 or 4 ft and just stop. a lot of times when you go to resume dragging you will feel tension or see line going a diff direction. i am not saying this is the #1 way to catch bass but this technique has won a lot of money in our club and always will produce. have to fish slow and be patient. if you are in an area that you know is holding fish this will get a bit. if you are fishing a grassy bottom you might want to go with a 1/16. it does better in the grass

would that work in the depths of Lake Erie? I don't think a 1/32 split shot would make it to the bottom with the current or is this rig for a pond or smaller body of water?

i have used this rig everywhere and caut fish. seminole, eufala, you name it and it has produced. i wdnt go past a 1/16 weight on a texas rig. if you want to go deep deep with it put this worm to work on a carolina rig with 2 clear beads and a 1/2 ounce tungsten weight
