Tuscaloosa Area
« on: February 25, 2010, 10:48:46 AM »

Has anyone been fishing at Lake Tuscaloosa or Holt Lake lately?  I've been going some and the few fish I've been able to fool have all been shallow in 6ft or less.  The water temp is still 45-48 degrees at both lakes.  The most frustrating thing about fishing lately has been not being able to catch any spotted bass on points or rock walls.  I was just wondering if anyone out there has been catching any consistently at these lakes????

Haven't been that far up, but everything on the Warrior seems to be slow!

SexyShad...

We went to Holt this past Sunday but didn't catch a thing.  We haven't gotten any bites on the points or rocky bluffs either.  There were lots of boats out but all the people we talked to were not catching anything or only one or two.  Also, lots of boats were racing instead of fishing so we figured that meant no one was catching anything.  :)We tried shakey head, cranks, spinners, jerks, ratt-L-traps, etc and NOTHING.  At least the water temps seem to not be falling any more. Sunday it was 44 degrees at the water surface.  My fishing log shows this is ten degrees colder than this time last year.  Let us know if you find anything that works.

P.S. Did you say you fish on the Bama College Team?

Yes, I fish on Alabama's Fishing Team or the "Crimson Tide Bass Anglers" as some people like to call us.
