Grand Lake
« on: February 28, 2010, 09:16:52 AM »

Hey guys just wondering if anyone has a report on Grand. I have the itch to go fishing so I was thinking of driving from Co. next week. Any idea of the water temperature? Don't want to make it a wasted trip, I would appreciate any reports. Thanks

~xyz ~rant Maybe everyone missed this. I wish I could have helped ya out. I'm in the same predicament. I have been to grand a few times but don't really know it. Does anyone here have some helpfull info about Grand Lake of the Cherokees. I will be there last week of April. Should be spawn conditions. Can anyone tell me what sections generally produce the best or where are some good areas to check?

Wish I could help you out.  Have fished other OK lakes - just not this one.  Hopefully one of our members will chime in here shortly - good luck and catch a bunch!! ~c~

was on Grand last Sun and Mon. Water temp was warming into the mid 60's. Crappie should be moving up within the next couple of days. Sandbass(white bass) are going crazy up the spring river. Bass shouldn't be to far behind.

I fished a Tournament on Grand April 17th. It took 21lbs to win. I had 15.25 which was 2 places out of the money.  I never left the Honey Creek Area.  Saw a number of bedding fish. The bigger females were off the bank in 5 to 10 feet of water.  I caught them on a green pumkin 7/16 ounce Jig with a zoom twin tail green pumpkin trailer.  Hope this helps.
