Orange Lake Tournament
« on: March 04, 2010, 09:37:32 AM »

Who is fishing Orange on the 13th? ~cf I am getting the waivers tomorrow.  Looks like a good weather pattern and reports are saying the fishing is picking up quite a bit so it should be pretty good. Sampson was a wash due to weather/crowding and other commitments. Hopefully this was a one time deal... This has the potential to be one of the better tournies this year!!! I am in and possibly my son.

Big shallow weedy Florida lake. Google it and you can find directions or if you want to pre fish give me a call and I can get you directions. I have 14 waivers so first 14 to respond are in lo lo lo

Report from FBN.

Held and fished the Bass Champions Seniors Tour on Orange Lake today 3/5/10. Had 13 boats and everyone caught at least one fish.  There were 8 limits of 5 fish caught.  It is amazing how tournaments can differ.  Last month 6+ won the tournament and this month, We had two fish one of them was 8.93. I caught on crankbait.  we could not finish the limit out and that cost us 3rd place.   Not only that, it was 3rd largest fish caught.  First Place was 26.06 with a10.71 BB.  2nd 20.47 with a 9.35.  3rd place was 13.32.  The most accurate info i got was both 1 & 2 were caught flipping.  Water temps were reported to be around 50-54.  If it warms up and stays that way, we should have  agreat weighin for the FBN Club.

Just so we are all on the same sheet of music...I believe (if I've done my research correctly) waivers only permit us to catch 12" fish, the creel limit is still 3 (Orange and Lochloosa)...if we need clarification I would recommend we get before Saturday morning...

I just got off the phone with the FWC and waivers do in fact exempt us from lengths, NOT creel limits.  That means Saturdays tournament is a three fish limit, 12" and bigger.

Departure from PETRO is going to be pretty dang early...safe light I would imagine is around 0630-0640 and the trip is probably close to 1:45 if not a little longer, probably want to be there no later than 6:15ish...

How does a 0415 departure from Petro? Hey bASSCLOWN make sure you set you're alarm this time :-* :-* :-* :-*
As far as the creel limit that is weird because last year Mr Green Jeans watched a couple 5 fish limits weighed in >:( >:( >:(
