Well, I certainly hope there are bass there. You may recall that last Fall we (Maryland Bass Federation Nation) stocked 115 adult largemouth bass between 12-15" in lenght, and about 2,000 baby bass, about 4 - 7" in lenght.  ~fff

Prior to Wilson Point ramp, you had basically 2 choices: use a marina ramp (and pay a substantial fee) or launch at Dundee & run around from there.  v~

Oh yeah, I almost forgot, you could also build a new home there & put in your own private ramp!  ;D

What about the two public ramps at Rocky Point Park? They have been there for quite some time and is a shorter run then the gunpowder.

When I got my new engine from Yamaha, their rep took me to Rocky Point Park. I didn't even knew existed. It was actually a good ramp, and I liked how it is protected off of the bay.

Are there bass there? I think that was Back River isn't it? It was December when I got it, so the grass was gone. It took us about 5 minutes to get into MR, as we were cruising really slowly setting the rings on the new motor.

I do recall a sign hanging at the booth at the entrance asking for a fee? I don't know as it was december and it was locked up, is it free?

Launced my Nitro at Wilson Point yesterday. Only one lane was open, due to the snow, but after today, that should be melted away too. Didn't do any fishing, just motored around a little bit checking out equipment on my boat.  v~ Water looked good, very clean. Temps: ramp 42, river 41, warmest found was 47 in one of the creeks.  ~sun

Regarding bass in Back River, I have caught them there over the years, but very few & far between. Most of the ones that I caught were pretty good size though!  ~gf

I usually launch at rocky point to crab directly out front of the entrance to back river so i get there before anyone is even manning the gate which is left open during the summer. I think I have paid maybe twice which was when it was a holiday weekend. I have even gone through when its manned and they said just to launch its free but if you wanna go to other places at the park its like 5 bucks. I even launch my jet ski there sometimes but Wilson Pt is where its at, best public ramp ive ever seen.
