I've had my Triton on plane at WOT in less than 18" of water. Major pucker factor though. ~sweat

I have a 15'9" Big Jon aluminum jon boat, that has been decked & carpeted & has a 9.9hp Johnson OB on it. I have a 12 gal fuel tank mounted in the middle, two trolling batteries at the back, and a 36lb thrust Minn Kota on the front. It has 2 swivel seats. With just myself in it, and tackle it can easily float in 3-4 inches of water, add another large angler & tackle & it adds about another inch it takes to float it.

Now, my 16 ft Gheenoe, it floats in much less water!  ;D

I can skim on top of stumps that are 1-2" below the surface... but I also have a canoe, not a normal boat ;D

Speaking of pucker factor, check out the gallery at Skippers Canyon Adventures in New Zealand. Whoa! 12 people in a jet boat going fast in shallow water in a narrow, rocky canyon. What the heck is that boat made of?

Wow! That would be a wild ride! I found this on their website:

Quote
The Boats

You're big blue Skippers Canyon jet boat was custom built specifically to operate in the Upper Shotover River. Constructed from heavy gauge aluminium the jet boats are designed for maximum strength and maneuverability.

Skippers Canyon "Big Blue" Jet Boats are powered by Chevrolet v8 engines producing 450 horsepower and operate on high octane aviation fuel. The thrust comes via a Hamilton Jet 212 jet unit pumping an amazing 25,000 liters of water per minute.

Sounds like the perfect small stream bass boat!  ~roflmao lo
