Toledo Bend Help!!!
« on: March 10, 2010, 11:22:33 AM »

Alright guys, I have not fished Toledo since I was a kid. Next week (Mar 17-20) I am carrying my 6 yr. old son to Toledo to camp and fish with my uncle and his 11 yr. old son. I don't normally do this but I am asking for fishing info (Bass, white perch) I don't care as long as these kids have fun catching fish. We will be camping just North of Pendleton Bridge. The timing ought to be about right. Just help me help these kids have a blast. I don't fish Toledo and I am not trying to take any honey holes from anyone. Looking forward to turning my phone off and spending time with my son on the Lake!!!! Thanks in advance guys!!

Todd for crappie run up to State park north, run past the launch, there will be two coves on your left as you go in, each will have a couple of docks right behind the park cabins after the 2nd small cove there is a point also on the left fish that point and the areas around it with shiners.

The two small coves have a bunch of grass and last year there were bedding fish in both coves and all along the bank line back out to the boat launch.

When running out of the State park area, you will come to a spot in the boat row that is a 4 way, run straight across and it will than turn right heading you back south pick any of those coves now on your left they are steep banks with clay/sandy bottoms.

Thats the ones I was talking about Todd. I'll show you those two coves on your map. Both looked good. Should be just right around the corner from you.

Yep figured it wouldn't be much of a run for him, and some good bed fishing should be right around the corner.

I am with you on that!  Lawguy and I both have 3 yr old boys and we cant wait till they get old enough to fish with us.  Mine takes his little fishing pool everywhere he goes already.

It doesn't get much better than that!

Should just be able to follow the boats since I think that the TOBI is that weekend. Might be wrong though.
