Cypress Bayou Reservoir Bass Fishing, 03/10/10
« on: March 10, 2010, 03:00:34 PM »

Fished this morning from 9 a.m. to noon.  Water clarity is stained, water level is good (maybe a little higher than normal for this time of year), and water temps ranged from 54 to 56 on the south end of the lake to 59 to 60 on the north end.  Only caught 2, both on a white spinnerbait, up north; fishing the lily pad stems and bushes.  Tried a fluke for quite a while but the wind made that pretty difficult.  Biggest fish went about 3 pounds.

Several boats up north fishing the same pattern, didn't see any of them catch anything.

Fished there the other day, I fished every square inch of those pad and bushes and couldn't buy a bite. Moved out to a little deeper water and fished some wood structure and ended up catching several nice fish. I think it'll be a little while longer before they are going to move up onto that lilly pad flat.

Not to be smart or offend you in any way but thats one of the two patterns really right now, but most people don't know this because they don't try the pattern they are biting on, its smiler but different.

So, you want to enlighten everyone to this similar pattern or just keep it to yourself?

I was thinking the same thing.  I don't mean to be mean (haha) but if I told someone they were wrong, I would at least proceed to tell them what's right. ~shade

That's a pretty brash statement, cause as a matter of fact, I fished up there last weekend and in an hour with a white spinnerbait put around 20lbs in the boat on 4 fish..Remember, just cause someone else is on a different pattern doesn't mean they are wrong... 8)

"Foot-in-mouth"  :)
I PCSed here in Mar 2002, not knowing much about the fishing here, I used a Gold 1/2oz spoon on some humps near those same pads. Caught several fish the biggest being a 4.5. Some guy trolls right on me and tries to give me advice about the current pattern. He didn't know I was catching fish on that spoon. I took his advice, thanked him, then showed him the fish I had in my livewell off that Gold 1/2oz spoon. I grew up in Central Cali where we use spoons quite frequently for Bass year-round. Sometimes, the bass want Chinese food instead of Italian. Just sayin...................

Yea thats messed up to call mike out like that. Ur new name is Jared. I talked to Jason after his post and 2 of those fish were 6lbs each! So guess Mike, Jason, Cork, beast and all those others that fish there are clueless on pattern too!

Dont post comments like that. Everyone is different in fishing. They chose there own pattern or take bits and pieces and make there own.

Its not really a pattern but its the other end of the lake because its two degrees warmer from under the bridge but as of right now it doesnt matter thyre on the banks everywhere just aat the other end I caught a 21.8 pound sack against the bank on a baby 1- but I don't know why because the water wasn't warm enough. Care to enlighten me why because it would help to know for next year. :help:
Oh yeah it was in waggners.

Maybe cause the the fish were staged regardless of the water temp. If your looking for a scientific reason, you may want to look elsewhere. It's just a part of fishing, the more you fish, the more you'll experience. :-*
