Poverty Point is a good lake to fish. The bass might be a little slow, but with the weather warming up it should get better real quick. There are several coves on the west side that produce bass, along with some piers on that side. We use a watermelon red brush hog, white spinner bait, and crank baits. There are several log piles out from the west side, if you see a stick-up there is a log pile there where they pushed up a line of them when building the lake. The east side holds fish too, there are some piers on the south east side along with state park cabins that are on pilings and they have fish also. The slot is 15 inch to 19 inch, and if it touches either end, put him back. You can have 7 under and one over.
