Susky / Flats Water
« on: March 16, 2010, 04:44:55 PM »

Hows it looking? Interested in fishing it Thursday or Friday... don't want to waste my time if it's all screwed up. They don't eat Rabble Rousers really well if it's muddy. Thanks.

Man you better go up ahead of time and look first.  That place has been getting hammered by dam overflow.   Might be better down in the lower bay.

Yea they actually had the gates showing on the news talking about anywhere from 10-15 gates wide open and continous water flow since saturday and more to come. I would say stay away for a few for sure.

You guys just don't want me up there tearing them up ~roflmao j/k I figured it was nasty... I was on the Potomac on Sunday and it was muddy in some spots, but crystal clear in others, though the water was high.

We were out Sunday for a really short bit until lightning flashed, followed by what Fishrocker and I decided was the longest thunder roll we've ever heard. THat sucker lasted easily  40-50 secs.
We didn't catch anything and we threw every color Rable Rouser at 'em.  8) The water was super high and mostly like Chocolate milk.
I'm hoping it should b closer to normal by Sat.

I didn't see this post till today, I could have saved you the trip. 12 gates all week till yesterday, down to 6. Very muddy and lots of floating debris. Sassafras is not too bad as far as clarity but water still pretty cold and when the tide comes in it sucks the even colder water out of the bay and into the river. I can give daily water condition reports on the tidal Susquehanna, e-mail me at creed413@aol.com

lo I recognize that spot too ;) Nice fish Mobile!
We went out yesterday and the water was pretty murky but defintiely clearing up. We had a tough day. Fishrocker banged a nice one on like the 3rd cast and we got all excited and thought for sure we were in for a nice day. But, I guess he caught that bass while it was yawning cuz we fished the heck outta that water all day and nothing! We tried abunch of different spots and found the water to range from  54.8 to 48 degrees.
The water was greenish brown murky.
