New guy here. I looked back and didn't see this posted in the last two years so here it goes.I hate striping line from my reels. To speed the process drill a 1/4" hole in the center of a coke bottle cap. Then bolt in a 3/4" long 1/4" bolt. Screw the cap onto a 20 ounce bottle and chuck it up in a variable speed drill. The drill will strip the line off your reel in no time at all. When you're done, toss the line and bottle in the trash. Keep the modified cap for the next time.
No to take away from your "Great" idea. Another method that includes a drill is to save the cardboard insert(tube) from your paper towels. Slip the tube over the chuck from your drill and striping is made easy.Hank
Good ideas to all! Myself, spoiled as I am, I use the line winding machine at my buddies bait shop to strip my reels Another quick way to do it is go to a local lake, watch for the guys who leave there trash everywhere. Then ID their vehicle, tie your lose end to their bumper, hide and watch them pull away! (Kidding, but sounds like fun)
