Love for the mighty trick worm
« on: March 17, 2010, 03:35:07 PM »

My favorite worm of all time is the zoom trick worm. In dark water i go with black or junebug most of the time. In clear i go with watermelon or watermelon red. Green pumpkin is also good. i usually go with a 1/32 or a 1/16 bullet weight and let it slide freely in the line. I was just wandering how many of you guys share the same love for this worm and when you guys use it. I always have one tied on. It can be used around stumps, trees, pads, grass almost everywhere. This worm has won lots of money.

If not my favorite, it's definatly one of my "go to" baits.I wacky rig ,fish it like a jerkbait, dropshot it,even use it as a trailer.I started putting a bullfrog color on the back of a goldbladded swimjig(greenpumpkin) it looks just like a bluegill,DEADLY.

I have caught more catfish on the Trick Worm then any other artifitial bait out there.  It seems like every time I throw it around any type of deeper cover, I get a catfish! :(

Other than that I love it... ;D

On of the best worms made for a variety of presentations.  One of my favorite ways to fish a trick worm is unweighted on a 4/0 EWG hook.  Fish it slowly in and around all kinds of cover and it falls horizontally with great action.

I picked up a bag of (I think) green watermelon Magnum trick worms the other day and will hopefully get a chance to use them next week when we go camping at the bass lake.

I thought I was going to get to use them next weekend but my wife has put me on fishing restriction.  Might try and sneak out to a reservoir during the week while she is at work and give em s shot.

gotta love that dam worm.  I use it so much that I almost forget about my other worms.  The action can be still or if you want erratic.  Its extremely versitile.  I generally use it on the shaky head.  1/16 is deadly.

When it comes to soft plastics the only thing put above it is a senko, and that's a stick bait. Best worm ever

6" Yum Houdini in any watermelon color. weightless or very small split shot. pitch to cover, let it sink then twitch it on the retrieve. great subtle technique.
