I went today,it was my 2nd trip ever to Caddo lake,and my first in 2010.I went up James Bayou and had a blast I managed to catch 13. With 4 over slot biggest was 6.1. I caught my fish on A Bang O lure and a foot loose bandit crank bait fish were shallow around Big cypress trees just off the Bank Caught 1 one on a red and black jig also in 3.5 ft water fish were very active i fished bang O lure twitching on top around trees that was very productive i lost several fish on Bang O lure just pull off are miss them go figure 3 sets of hooks and still lose them.Water temp hit 62.5 deg at 2pm.Water was slightly stained i am new to the shreveport area but i will say that i am favoring Caddo Lake I am planning on spending some time on that lake this year.

Glad to hear that, Caddo is a damn good big bass lake, I've caught my biggest out of there, 9.83 pounds, and this spring the big females are going to be hitting topwater like crazy, but my favorite time of the year out there is late fall, the fish are feeding heavily, my goto bait is a tiger minnow rogue.

Looks like Caddo has won another fisherman over, Jeems Bayou has been hot. I was out yesterday checking out some areas that have not been very fishable because of the mats of salvania, which have been breaking up with the wind and rain. Only caught one over, but caught about 20 fish with many dinks. Over & slots were in water over 4 1/2 foot, dinks were in 3 foot range. Water color was slight stain to clear, surface temp was 60 to 62. Caught all fish on a 1/8 oz texas rig blue lizard around Louisiana/Texas state line (Big Green Brake).
