My dad is taking a day off(about dang time)
, and we are hitting Bistineau. I grew up down there on a camp in Blue Pond near Bubbling Wells, and I need some tips out there tomorrow, such as ares to fish, lures, etc, just because I haven't been out there in a while because the damn disheartening SALVINIA
, any pointers would be highly appreciated by my dad and I, just want to make this day off pay off.
WELL GOOD LUCK AND THANKS TO ANY HELP AND KEEP ON A FISHIN

Told you all I know in my last Bist report.
Work trees 2/4 foot based on the water temp the warmer it is go shallow but some have spawned so if you start to see small fry in that are work back out deep.
Soft plastics I like a brushhog and a big bite bait flipping frog with the stain use dark colors to many times I've fish tournaments and while I did good on one color others have did just as well if not better on another color so it's up to you, use whatever you like best.
I go with a big 3/4 ounce weight it will snag in the grass if you try and drag it around so don't bother. I go for the reaction bite so no need to drag or work it they are going to hit it on the fall or if that isn't working let it sit and they will pick it up. If all else fails go down in weight size slowing the fall as needed.
Keep a vibrashock and a spinnerbait close at hand there are days they want something moving so with those pitch past the trees and bring them back as close to and or hit the trees before reeling it back in, Fogy green or take the skirt off and put on a dark colored beaver type bait and for the spinnerbait use double willow one gold one silver I tend to do better with the bigger blade gold.
A good bit of the salvania is dead or at least brown I wouldn't wast any time working an area that is covered with it but small clumps around trees or docks makes good cover so don't run from all of it.
Good luck
Ron

Sorry I forgot about your last post but, thanks a lot for the tips, my dad and I really appreciate it, this is his only time to take off during the work week to go fishing, and good luck to you, hopefully tomorrow we will have a stringer full of bass, planning on using a firetiger rogue tomorrow, that is our best bait for Bistineau, over the years we have caught giants from the lake before we started fishing caddo, and I will stick to the trees like always on Bistineau.
THANKS, AND TELL CHRIS WAYAND AUSTIN KEMPER SAID HEY NEXT TIME YOU SEE HIM, KEEP FISHIN AND GOOD LUCK, YHANKS A
