This morning I headed to the Quad Cities to pick up my trolling motor. After a little hassle from the guy at the shop, I was on my way. It cost me more in gas money to get it to the shop then it did to fix it. I had one bad wire connection.. So it cost $4 for the parts and $30 for the labor.
After getting home I head to my brothers pond for some fishing. After about a half hour I switched over to a crank bait. On the 4th cast I hook into a fish. It starts pulling drag and I have to actually push the button and thumb the spool. I start thinking I had snagged a grass carp. I see the fish role and it looked to be one of the nice Northern that are in the pond. I got the fish up to the bank and it takes off. I was not able to see it

After about a min I get it back almost to the bank and I see its not a Northern. It was a walleye that looked to be in the 30" range. It was by far the biggest eye I had ever seen. She took off again and I work her for about another min before I get her headed back to the bank. Then she takes off one more time and I was not able to push the button and the drag did not keep up with her. When that happened the hook pulled free

I was very surprised with how hard she was able to pull. Every walleye I have ever caught before kind of just come in.
The only good thing that came out of it was, she is still in there

This pond coughed up a 9.5 pound eye two years ago that was released, it was probably the same fish.
