I've been refurbishing my '88 Stratos 179V, New gel coat and graphics, carpet, upholstry, fishin seats, steering cables and took the Johnson 140VRO "Looper" .30 over. The Stratos Trail will get new paint this month and whatever else it needs. This is the best riding most stable boat I've ever had. It was either buy something newer and have payments or re-do my baby. I can only post one pic so I can't show all the work thats been completed. Sixpack

Wish I could see all your hard work in person - pics never do all you described any favors.  How long have you been working on it?

Well I went home for R&R and bought a new '08 285 with a 150 VMax HPDI,Hotfoot,MK70/SC TM, 323's up front and on the consoles, tackle system, Tempest 23p, Road Armoured w/swing tongue Trailer. I love the ride of the boat in rough water and the motor is awesome also so far only have little over 3hrs on the motor before I had to come back last week to the sandy dessert ~xyz. Don't really have any good pics but when I get home in a couple month I will post up a few. It will be just in time for some good fall fishing!

This is mine and my husbands.  ;D. A 2007 294XL, 200 E-Tech Evinrude and I added the Powerpole this May. It's the 8' Sportsman model which is less expensive than the original ones. We are adding a console later this year, and maybe the second powerpole down the road. We were lucky to find this "never titled, new" boat at the factory. It was the last of a repo done by the factory on a dealer up north who went out of business. We were able to get it for $10,000 under retail price. We added an Eagle fish finder to the front, It came with a Lowrance and was a team package. We mostly use front fish finder for depth, and we were lucky enough to WIN a Jackplate in the Stratos Owners Tournament drawing!

It handles great even in rough water, plenty of speed for the tournaments, to get where we wanted to go.

For your drain plug look at.
http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Bass_Boat_Solutions_Drain_Plug_System/descpage-BBSDPS.html

a few of my fishing buddies have put this in.

As for your gas fumes is the vent the same as the fill? My vent hose wasn't on all the way and the fumes were dumping into the back compartment. Not sure but it's an idea. Good luck.

I've got a dual console 95 285 Pro XL.  Put an 150 E-TEC H.O. on her back in 08.  Got a Motorguide Digital Tour Edition 82# on the bow.  Have 2 Lowrance GPS units, one in the bow, and the other on a Ram mount at the helm. White with blue striping.  looks like she just came off the showroom floor!!!

hockeyref,

Thanks for sharing your ride with us.
When you get the chance post a picture.

A quick question about your boat, do you have a boarding ladder on yours.
I'm thinking of getting one for my 285 Pro XL and the dealership isn't for sure about the hull design.
I saw a 294 with one mounted on the left rear corner.
