I finally had a chance to do a morning fishing trip to Lake St. Clair. I was inspired to put together a little video for those going there for the first time. I had a buddy that fished there for the first time and he was overwhelmed with the size of the lake. He wasn't going there to win a tournament, but just wanted to catch some smallmouth. There are plenty of places to fish that are so close to the Michigan shore that you could access them with a kayak! This video shows you some locations to target and even some techniques to try. I'm hoping it helps the next guy looking to just catch some smallmouth for fun.

Brother you won't regret it. Just keep an eye on the wind direction. North, Northwest, and West winds your good to go. South, East, or Southeast make sure it's a light wind. I would also recommend hitting it early spring when the smallmouth are coming shallow to spawn.

I hear ya Joe. Life does get in the way the older we get. Seems like I have less time the older I get.
