Im just starting out with bait casting which dobyns will be better sr 703c or sr 734c? will be using a daiwa sv tw 7.3:1. Bait I will be using senkos, texas, chatterbait, other plastics, some jigs. This is really just a setup to see what kind of fishing I like and works for my area. Thanks

This may seem like an odd question but are you fishing from shore?
Fishing from shore tends to be easier with a shorter rod.
The 703 and 734 are going to fish pretty close to each other because of the 3 inches length change. I personally would opt for the 734, I like the extra length to allow for longer casts and better control of fish. But if I was fishing from shore and trying to move around shoreline cover the slightly shorter rod might be better. All things equal both rods will handle your bait choices, with a nod to the 734.

I would second the 734. I use my Sierra 734C for all the teechniques you mentioned.

The Sierra 734 has a special place in my arsenal. I have used it for all of those techniques and many more. The best all around rod in the Dobyns line-up.

734 or 704 is the best all around Dobyns rods IMO. I personally like a 7ft rod, so I chose the 704, but I use this in the Champion XP series. I also have a Sierra 684 that is one bad little SOB.

Im choosing between the sa 734c and sa 703c because there in stock locally and im going fishing saturday. With the current tackle I have (pictured some) 3/8 spinners/chatter, 1/4 bullet weights, 1/4 swimbait hooks. What series 734 or 703 would be better. Thanks for all the info.

734 is it. The 703 is going to be trouble around grass.

734 all the way.

For those bait choices the 734 will be great.
