MY first time out was memorable last Thursday...Launched out of Marinette, Wisc north targetting Walleye. Reports put fish in 30-40 fow... Techniques are snap jigging 3/4 oz glide baits with Goby type/color trailers and Shiver Minnows... I had it rigged with a 3000 reel, 12#HV braid w a Gamma 12# leader.
The rod is awesome! Extremely sensitive, soft tip but the backbone kicks in very progressively with solid power in the butt. It will be a great deep water DS and tube rod also. First fish was a 24" Walleye which pulled hard but soon succumbed to the rod. A few minutes later all hell broke loose with a 6#...22" Smallie! She performed two full body somersaults ~c~ Just sold two rods to afford a DRX 723...I have heard raves on that model too! Sorry pics wont load :)
