Title: You can take five with you what are they???
Post by: GRAPEAPE on March 27, 2007, 08:34:38 PM
If you could only take 5 setups on the water with you what would they be?  What type of rod (size, action) Reel (baitcast /spinning) what would you use that specific setup for?

Here's mine to get started. Techniques in red are how I would start the day, and hopefully not have to switch up a whole lot.

#1: 7ft MH baitcaster:  spinnerbait, carolina rig, light flipping
#2: 7'6" H baitcaster: pitching flipping
#3: 7ft M Baitcaster: crankbaits
#4: 6'6 MH Baitcaster: Plastics, texas, tubes, light crankbaits
#5: 7ft M Spinning: Dropshot, jig-a-worming, shaky.

Enjoy....Grape

6' M Vibrashock
7' MH Texas/Carolina (texas first then peg the weight up the line)
6'6" MH cranking
6' M Shakey head
6'6" M spinning drop shot

I throw them in that order mostly but I would also throw a jig on the 7'er before I went to cranking...

1) 6.5' med rod all arounder - topwater, crankbaits (my lamiglas) - casting
2) 7' med-light action dropshot rod (another lamiglas) for drop shot/finesse - spinning
3) 6'10" mh for jigs/t-rigs (my crucial) - casting
4) 7' H rod flippin stick - I don't have such a rod, but my current fishing environment has no need for this. - casting
5) 7' Light action rod to go with a Pixy - I don't have this either but dang, I have been wanting to add a light line casting rig to my arsenal for the fun of it. lo
